Society of General Internal Medicine
Primary Care Residents are strongly encouraged to present a clinical vignette or research abstract at regional and national meetings of general medicine. The 2005 New England Regional resident award and the 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 New England Regional awards for best vignette were awarded to BIDMC residents. At the national meeting of SGIM, our residents have presented vignettes in the most prestigious unknown clinical vignette sessions in 2007, 2008 and 2009. On a separate note, BIDMC faculty hold leadership positions in SGIM on a regional and national level. Many of our faculty have won society awards for scholarship in education and in research.
Primary Care Dinners
Primary care dinners occur through the year. There is an annual careers dinner with presentations from graduates working in a wide range of primary care settings. Additional events in the recent past have included theatre outings, and events in faculty members homes focused on poetry in medicine, musical talents of faculty and residents, politics in medicine, and good food.
