The Multi-Site Clinical Program
Fellowship training begins on July 1 and takes place at multiple clinical sites. An in-depth exposure to primary care within a long-term facility is provided at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center. The Boston VA Healthcare System offers time in specialty clinics with common geriatric illnesses and palliative care rotation. Expertise in interdisciplinary consultation is obtained during the rotations at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Brigham and Women's Hospital. Fellows manage care of frail elderly patients in the acute care setting and teach House Staff on the Inpatient Geriatrics Service at BIDMC. In addition, longitudinal experiences in outpatient primary care and community nursing home care are required and offered at a variety of sites.
