The Boston Foundation

In the spring of 2007, The Boston Foundation awarded BIDMC $500,000 toward its innovative and pioneering workforce development program.

The monies are advancing the development and implementation of a pre-pipeline allied health program, open to all BIDMC employees, that provides on-site, regular college placement testing and counseling, college preparatory and pre-requisite courses, as well as ongoing support to employees while they take these courses to help them learn to balance their lives, jobs at BIDMC, and coursework.

Funds will also be used to provide additional information and resources to increase employee awareness of allied health programs, and to build a stronger referral network for those not yet ready for pre-college work.
