On May 2, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s Board of Overseers hosted its annual Critical Voices event, which showcased our renowned excellence in heart health. The evening featured remarks from event co-chairs Kathleen and Matthew Consigli, BIDMC CEO Kevin Tabb, M.D., and Danielle Remis Hackel, chair of the Board of Overseers. The engaging program, Who Wants to Be an Innovator, was hosted by former WBZ-TV news and sports anchor Scott Wahle and highlighted BIDMC’s expert physicians in cardiovascular medicine and surgery.
During the program, game show contestants included Pam Lesser, vice chair of the Trustee Advisory Board; Elliot Chaikof, M.D., Ph.D., chair of the Roberta and Stephen R. Weiner Department of Surgery; Travis McCready, member of the Trustee Advisory Board and president and CEO of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center; and Alexa Boer Kimball, M.D., M.P.H., president and CEO of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC. The contestants answered multiple-choice questions that introduced the work of the following expert physicians: Aarti Asnani, M.D., associate director of the Cardio-Oncology Program; Robert Gerszten, M.D., chief of cardiovascular medicine; Kamal Khabbaz, M.D., chief of cardiac surgery; and Peter Zimetbaum, M.D., associate chief and clinical director of cardiovascular medicine.
