Nurse Coordinators
In addition to the specialized care provided by the Transplant Institute physicians, nurse coordinators with expertise in transplantation provide coordination of care, education and close personal support throughout the transplant process. They coordinate all aspects of the evaluation process and monitor the status of patients who are on the organ transplant waiting list. Nurse coordinators also work closely with the nurses on the inpatient Transplant Unit to assure continuous patient/family education and appropriate discharge planning.
