The Transplant Institute at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a major teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, provides the following services:

Under the direction of transplant surgeon Douglas W. Hanto, MD, PhD, the Transplant Institute has gained prominence in New England for clinical excellence, and national recognition for our scientific contributions, our fellowship training programs, and our efforts to increase deceased and living organ donation. A noted authority and acknowledged thought leader in the field of solid organ transplantation, Dr. Hanto is Chief of the Division of Transplantation at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Lewis Thomas Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
