Bariatric surgeons at BIDMC who perform weight loss surgery specialize in minimally invasive surgery. Bariatric surgeons are committed to pre- and postoperative care of weight loss surgery patients, including the management of post-operative complications. Bariatric surgeons work collaboratively with all members of the team in the selection and care of weight loss surgery patients. Since our bariatric surgeons are also Board Certified in General Surgery, they also perform procedures for patients with hernia, gallstones, and excess skin.
