William C. DeWolf, MD, FACS

William C. DeWolf, MD, FACS is Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Urologist-in-Chief at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He also is the director of the Urologic Research Laboratories which currently employs four PhDs and is funded by two National Institutes of Health grants as well as other industry supported awards. Dr. DeWolf is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School and has completed training not only in urologic surgery but also in general surgery and transplantation. He has had several major awards including a National Institute of Health Research Career Development Award and has been an American Urological Association Scholar. Other major responsibilities have included study section representation for the National Institute of Health as well as president of the National Urologic Forum and a member of the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons. He serves on the Editorial Board of Urology and is a referee for several major urologic and scientific journals. He has authored or co-authored over two hundred articles and chapters. His major areas of interest include urologic malignancies and prostatic diseases. His major research interest is molecular genetics and the biochemistry of malignancy.
