Hearing Aid Program

The department of audiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is a fully operational hearing aid center staffed by experienced audiologists certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association. We offer a full range of hearing aid products including state-of-the-art digital technology. We also service and repair all makes and models of hearing aids, as well as provide batteries, cleaning supplies and assistive listening products appropriate for all hearing-impaired listeners. Hearing aid walk-in service is also available.

Patients considering hearing aids first undergo a thorough hearing evaluation to identify the nature and degree of hearing loss. Then the most suitable amplification system is selected after discussing technology, size and expense options based on the patient's needs. Ear impressions are obtained and the patient returns in two weeks for the fitting. A 30-day adjustment trial follows to ensure that patients are receiving maximum benefit from their hearing system. The hearing aid is serviced each year to ensure its longevity and highest level of performance.

Patients Appropriate for Referral:
Referrals are accepted from all sources. Patients may also be seen in conjunction with an evaluation from an ear, nose and throat physician, if desired.
