Central Line Service
The Central Line Service determines and coordinates the appropriate placement for central venous access. This program is also a resource for inpatient and outpatient matters involving the care and maintence of lines.
The Central Line Service is staffed by a registered nurse (RN) coordinator who helps, along with physicians, to determine the appropriate placement for venous access. There are many different reasons for placement of venous access and also various devices to meet individual patients' infusion needs. After placement, support for patients is also available through the nurse coordinator, listed below:
