Interventional Radiology Complex Airway Center
BIDMC's Complex Airway Center offers advanced minimally invasive procedures to diagnose, treat and manage the complex airway. Airway obstructions can usually be relieved with the help of airway stenting and advanced therapies such as photodynamic therapy on an outpatient basis. New imaging systems frequently allow biopsy of pulmonary nodules without the need for surgery.
Pleural procedures such as thoracoscopy and pleurodesis are now performed on an outpatient basis without the need for an operating room or prolonged hospital stay.
