Emotions

Most Experience Some Emotional Strain

Most people experience some emotional strain as they recover from surgery.

Mood Swings

Mood swings are common and it is normal to feel sad. However, as you progress in your recovery, you should begin to feel better emotionally as well as physically.

If changes in your mood or emotions last longer than six weeks, please tell your primary care doctor. Further treatment may be needed.

Forgetfulness and Lack of Mental Sharpness

Some patients also experience short periods of forgetfulness or do not feel as mentally sharp as usual. This should pass as your recovery progresses.

Talk with your doctor if you continue to have trouble remembering or thinking.
