Signs and Symptoms
The symptoms of mitral valve endocarditis are those of any infection. These include:
- Fever over 100 degrees F
- Sweats or chills, especially night sweats
- Skin rash
- Pain, tenderness, redness, swelling
- Wound or cut that won’t heal
- Sore throat or pain when swallowing
- Sinus drainage, nasal congestion
- Persistent cough
- White patches in mouth or on tongue
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
