Spine Center Continues to Grow

To keep pace with demand for the Spine Center’s comprehensive care, two highly regarded Spine Center specialists have expanded their practices.
Boston – Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
Dr. Christine Peeters-Asdourian, a pain management specialist, will be practice in the Spine Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on Wednesdays, joining the comprehensive team of surgical and nonsurgical providers. “This demonstrates the valued collaboration between our Spine Center and the Arnold Pain Management Center, where Dr. Peeters-Asdourian and several key Spine Center practitioners are based,” notes Kelly Orlando, Executive Director of Ambulatory Operations at BIDMC.

- Board-certified.
- Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School.
- A leader in pain medicine.
- More than 25 years of practice.
- Clinical interests/expertise include pain medicine for elderly patients, and narcotics issues.

Beth Israel Deaconess HealthCare Chelsea
Dr. Kevin McGuire, an orthopaedic spine surgeon and a Co-Director of the Spine Center, will see patients on Thursdays. He joins Dr. Peeters-Asdourian in offering advanced spine care to patients at BIDHC Chelsea, and will offer evaluations for surgery as well as follow-up visits. He says, “I look forward to serving Chelsea patients in partnership with Dr. Asdourian and the great primary care physicians at Chelsea.”

- Board certified and fellowship trained.
- Assistant Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery, Harvard Medical School.
- Founding Co-Director of the Spine Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
- Clinical interests/expertise in adult spine surgery include cervical spine surgery, minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery, and tumors of the spinal column.
- Also sees Spine Center patients in Boston, Lexington, Needham, and Newburyport.
