Lodging Program

Lodging Options for Patients and Families:

The Hospitality Program is a non-profit organization which finds housing for families of patients, and under certain circumstances the patients themselves, when they travel to Boston for medical treatment.

The Hospitality Program brings families of out-of-town patients together with volunteer hosts who live near or are convenient to area hospitals.  The majority of the hosts live in Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Newton and nearby suburbs.  Hosts provide guests with a spare room in their homes knowing they are helping a patient's healing process.  Hospitality Homes

Many of the area hotels, motels and inns offer a medical rate to patients being treated in area hospitals.  Please click on Hotels and Inns to access a list of the area lodging options. Lodging List

Room Away from Home:

The  Room Away From Home Program is a joint program of the social work departments of Beth Israel Deaconess, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The program assists financially needy out-of-town patients and families who require suitable lodging for short stays in Boston while they are undergoing treatment. In collaboration with local hotels, eligible patients and families are offered appropriate accommodations at reduced rates based upon availability.  Please contact your social worker or the social work department for eligibility.
