What to Expect
Thank your for choosing us as your rehabilitation services provider. We look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your rehabilitation goals. To make sure that you get the most out of your course of therapy, we need your cooperation. The following list describes ways that will help us help you the most!
Attendance
The single most important thing you can do to ensure a good outcome to therapy is to keep your scheduled appointments . Please make every effort to come. If you must cancel or change an appointment, please call us at least 24 hours in advance.
What to expect
At the first visit, your physical or occupational therapist will ask about your goals, perform an examination and work with you to design a treatment plan that meets your needs. Together you will discuss the best frequency and timing of follow up visits. Follow up visits can range from 1 to 3 times per week for several weeks and most patients are seen for about 6 visits.
Home Program
You will be asked to do some exercises at home on a regular basis. Your therapist will review them with you and give you written instructions with pictures.
Clothing
Wear loose fitting casual clothing that allows you to move comfortably or is easy to remove. Shorts are best to wear for leg or back problems. We offer men’s and women’s locker rooms with showers.
Insurance Coverage
We accept most insurance plans. If you have questions about your particular insurance coverage for rehabilitation services, call the number on the back of your insurance card.
Co-pays
If your insurance calls for a co-payment, we will ask you to pay at the front desk at the time of each visit.
Parking
We offer discounted parking for patients who park in the Shapiro clinical center. If you need assistance in getting from your car to the second floor, let your therapist know.
