Graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in 1972. Completed internship at the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis and served as a resident in Nuclear Medicine at the Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine, Harvard Medical School. Completed a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1983. He joined the Nuclear Medicine Division of the Beth Israel Hospital in 1978. He is a past president of the Computer and Instrumentation Council of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and has particular interests in cardiovascular studies and application of positron emission tomographic (PET) imaging.
