Jonathan Kleefield, M.D. received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966 from Columbia University. He was awarded the M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1970. Internship and Radiology Residency were completed at Long Island Jewish Hillside Medical Center during the years 1970-1974. From 1974-1976, he served as Director of Clinical Ultrasonography at the Naval Regional Medical Center, Oakland, California. A fellowship in Neuroradiology was obtained at Massachusetts General Hospital in the subsequent two years. Since 1978, Dr. Kleefield has been a Neuroradiologist at Beth Israel Hospital, and in 1990 was appointed Director of the Neuroradiology section.
Dr. Kleefield is the author or co-author of numerous scientific publications and book chapters, and is also a highly regarded teacher, both nationally and internationally. He co-administers a respected Neuroradiology Fellowship program in conjunction with Children's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston. At the latter institution, he holds an appointment as Staff Neuroradiologist as well. Dr. Kleefield participates extensively in educational activities at Harvard Medical School, where he serves as a student advisor and as Associate Professor of Radiology.
