Child Safety Seat Program
Child Passenger Safety Technician Program
The Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Technician Program is a federally funded program sponsored by the Safe Kids Worldwide Alliance. All Technicians of the CPS program must attend and pass a rigorous 40 hour class which is mandated by the Federal Government. The program provides "Technicians" free of charge to install infant/child safety seats for all types of vehicles and seat manufacturers while also providing important information on child safety.

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center provides two certified technicians that are available to install any type of infant/child car seat. This service is free of charge and is provided by the BIDMC Public Safety Department. As a reminder, BIDMC does not allow any infant to leave the medical center that does not have an infant/child seat installed correctly by a CPS certified technician.
To schedule an appointment at the main campus of the medical center, please contact the Public Safety dispatch center and ask to speak with our CPS certified Technician, Sgt. Jonathan E. Pare.
To schedule an appointment at our Bowdoin Street Health Center please contact the Police Officer/Technician assigned to Bowdoin Street, Ptl. Kevin A. Carroll.
