Public Safety
The Public Safety division consists of uniformed security officers who work alongside the police officers in order to provide a safe environment for all patients, staff and visitors of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Some of the Public Safety officers patrol medical center property via foot or bicycle and check to ensure that all proper areas of the hospital are secure. The officers also serve the important function of access control by being stationed at key entry/exit points throughout the medical center. Public Safety officers respond to emergency calls as well as respond to calls for assistance with lockouts and escorts for members of the BIDMC community.
