Criminal Investigations

Criminal Investigations is a multi-function unit within the department. All initial investigations are the responsibility of the police officer who is initially assigned to any complaint call. After the initial investigation, follow-up investigations (if necessary) are handled by the Sergeant Detective and other police personnel assigned to the Criminal Investigations division. The Sgt. Detective and his staff complete the follow-up investigations by contacting witnesses or victims for further information regarding particular cases, preparing and filing cases with the District Attorney's office, as well as District & Superior Courts, and obtaining & serving warrants for arrests or searches. Additionally the Sgt. Detective is responsible for processing crime scenes, as well as interviewing potential suspects, witnesses, and victims, and investigating all case leads.

To contact the Criminal Investigations Division, please contact our dispatch center between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. using the number to the right and ask to speak with a member of the Investigations division.
