Consultation for Difficult and Problematic Cases

The Breast Pathology Consultation Service reviews slides from difficult and problematic cases. We also perform ancillary immunohistochemical studies, as needed.

Expert Breast Pathologists

All consultations are reviewed by one of three expert breast pathologists:

• Stuart J. Schnitt, MD
  
• James L. Connolly, MD
  
• Laura C. Collins, MD

Turnaround Time

We endeavor to be very timely in our turnaround of consultation cases. In most instances, you can expect at least a phone call with a preliminary diagnosis within 24 hours of receipt of the case. However, given the difficult or complex nature and the need for adjunctive studies in some cases, reaching a final diagnosis may sometimes take longer.

Reporting of Results

We provide reporting of results by fax.
