DDB Monthly Case Conference

The Palliative Care Consultation Service sponsors a monthly case conference entitled "Death, Dying and Bereavement." The BIDMC-wide monthly case conference examines cases involving the Palliative Care Consultation Service.

The purpose of the Death, Dying and Bereavement series is to offer a supportive environment where staff can share their experiences, thoughts, and feelings about caring for patients who die. Each conference features a specific case with discussion by involved staff about the challenges they faced in caring for the patient, family, and themselves, and about how they met those challenges. Our goal is to catalyze ongoing discussions that will lead to improvements both in clinical care and professional support and renewal.

Death, Dying, and Bereavement Monthly Case Conferences are generally held the fourth Monday of each month (September-June) from 12:30p-1:30p. Conferences are only open to BIDMC employees due to the confidential nature of the topics discussed.
