Joshua Lamb, MD, a 2005 graduate of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, has joined the
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham. Dr. Lamb has just returned from spending a year at Butaro Hospital in Rwanda where, as a Global Surgery Fellow through Brigham and Women's Hospital, he worked with Partners in Health to expand clinical services and build surgical capacity in Rwanda.
Prior to working abroad, Dr. Lamb was a Fellow at the Foot and Ankle Service in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Lamb completed his residency at Georgetown University in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2010.
Dr. Lamb's interests include arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle cartilage, restoration of the ankle including fractures and dislocations of the foot and ankle arthrodesis, and tendon transfers of the foot and ankle.
Dr. Lamb will begin seeing patients the first week in December on Tuesday and Fridays at Needham Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, located at 300 Chestnut Street in Needham. He will be seeing patients in Boston on Wednesdays. In Needham, Dr. Lamb will be working closely with well-known orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Michael Corbett as Dr. Corbett begins transitioning to retirement.
