Area residents are invited to participate in free varicose vein screenings Nov. 2 with an experienced vascular surgeon at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham.
Mark Wyers, MD, a board-certified vascular surgeon from the CardioVascular Institute (CVI) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-Needham, will examine varicose veins and spider veins. He will also discuss non-surgical treatment options. Educational materials and refreshments will be provided.
The screening will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 4-7 p.m. at BID-Needham, 148 Chestnut Street. Parking is free. To make an appointment, please call 617-632-9959.
Varicose veins may be more than a cosmetic issue. They can cause significant pain, numbness and swelling. Procedures may be covered by medical insurance for some patients. Non-surgical treatment methods typically involve quick recovery time, less pain and no scarring.
