Long-time Needham resident Richard W. Davis is the new Chair of the Board of Trustees at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham. Mr. Davis succeeds Seth Medalie of Needham who served as the Board chair from 2007-2010.
Mr. Davis was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 2004 and recently chaired the successful capital campaign to raise funds for the Hospital's expansion project. Mr. Davis is a graduate of Needham High School and Colby College. He served as president of the Edward Davis Insurance Agency, which is now called the Provider Insurance Group, from 1980 to 2009. He remains Chair of the Board of the Provider Insurance Group. Mr. Davis is a former president of the Needham Rotary Club and the Needham Community Council. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Needham Historical Society and is a member of Needham Town Meeting
The Board of Trustees at Beth Israel Deaconess-Needham is a body of volunteers responsible for ensuring that the institution fulfills its mission and vision through the oversight of its strategic, financial and operating plans.
The newest member of the Board of Trustees is Samantha Trotman Burman of Dover. Ms. Burman is a Director for MedAssets, a company that provides supply chain consulting and revenue cycle management services to hospitals and health care systems. Previously, Ms. Burman was a principal and then partner at Parthenon Capital, a Boston-based private equity investment firm, and CFO for Physicians Quality Care, a physician practice management firm. She is an honorary director of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Ms. Burman joined BID-Needham's Board of Advisors last year and has been an active member of the Patient Care Assessment Committee.
The Board of Advisors at Beth Israel Deaconess-Needham is a body of volunteer leaders committed to high quality health care delivery and strengthening the hospital's ability to advance its mission through philanthropy. Advisors also serve as community ambassadors for the hospital.
Newly appointed members to the Board of Advisors are: Herbert Abramson, Maureen Chamoun; Kenneth Horton, Timothy Kickham, and Stephen Wagner, from Needham and Steven Lipiner of Norfolk.
