Beth Israel Deaconess Podiatry Associates announces two new associates.
(Boston, Mass. – July 1, 2009) Dr. John Giurini, Chief, Division of Podiatric Surgery at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston announces that Drs. Emily and Jeremy Cook have joined the Division of Podiatric Surgery as attending surgeons.
Drs. Emily and Jeremy Cook received their doctorate in podiatric medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in Oakland,, California. They completed a three-year podiatric surgical residency at the BI-Deaconess followed by a two-year fellowship in complex reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. .
In addition to their surgical training, Drs. Cook received their Masters in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. They have passed the American Board of Podiatric Surgery’s rigorous written exam to become board-qualified and are preparing for the certifying board’s detailed review of their cases and oral examination to become board-certified. They are Associates of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. They are also clinical instructors at the Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Emily Cook’s primary clinical practices will be in Chelsea, Lexington and Needham while Dr. Jeremy Cook’s primary locations will be Chelsea, Needham and Randolph. They will also be responsible for conducting research studies based at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The primary focus of their research will be health care policy, preventative diabetic foot care and outcomes research.

Drs. Emily and Jeremy Cook will join Drs. John Giurini, Barry Rosenblum, Thomas Lyons, Philip Basile, Thanh Dinh and Adam Landsman as the newest members of BI-Deaconess Podiatry Associates. The group provides a full range of foot and ankle care but specializes in complex foot reconstructions, diabetic foot disorders, sports medicine and trauma. The group is also heavily involved in research having authored many original papers and books. BI-Deaconess Podiatry Associates maintain offices in Boston, Cambridge, Chelsea, Lexington, Needham, Randolph and Waltham. They are affiliated with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-Boston, Beth Israel Deaconess-Needham, Children’s Hospital, Mount Auburn Hospital, Milton Hospital, New England Baptist Hospital and Quincy Medical Center.
