Oncology
The Oncology Program offers a team approach to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Our oncologists care for patients with all types of cancer, but also see patients in specialty clinics at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Mark Huberman specializes in Thoracic Oncology. Dr. Amy Comander has a special interest in Breast Oncology. Dr. Glenn Bubley has a specialty in Genitourinary Oncology. Through the hospital's affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, other forms of advanced cancer treatment are readily available to patients when needed.
The guiding principle of Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Care at BID-Needham is to provide a highly compassionate care that is clinically and technically advanced using a team approach.
A team of physicians, oncology nurses and social workers assumes responsibility for the varied needs of a patient and his or her family. Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Care at BID-Needham offers chemotherapy and other cancer treatments. We offer on-site advanced imaging services, including mammography, ultrasound, CT scan and MRI capabilities. We also offer access to continuum of leading edge cancer treatment and management programs, as well as social services, nutrition consultation, spiritual care, hospice programs and rehabilitation services. Care is always individualized, placing the needs of each patient first.
If a cancer patient should require the type of highly specialized care that is only available in an academic medical center setting, we have a close relationship with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. In fact, most of our physicians also see patients at BIDMC-Boston in addition to working at BID-Needham. This unique arrangement allows for delivery of cancer care in a close-knit, convenient and personalized environment while still having more specialized resources readily available.
In their work with patients, our staff delivers the following services:

- Coordination of care with other key patient services including social service, visiting nurses and hospice
