Philip Triffletti MD
Dr. Philip Triffletti provides comprehensive internal medicine clinical services encompassing general internal medicine and all the subspecialties of internal medicine, from primary care to tertiary care. Dr. Triffletti is board certified in internal medicine and is a member of the faculty of Harvard Medical School and maintains admitting privileges at BIDMC in Boston. Dr. Triffletti is also joined by Pamela Fox a Nurse Practioner. Our physicians work closely with the specialists who provide services at the BID Chelsea site and BIDMC to provide the highest quality and continuity of care close to home.
Hours of Operation
Our office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM and Friday's from 8:30AM to 3:00PM (urgent care only). Please call (617) 660-6212 to schedule an appointment. A physician is on call for emergencies after hours. The on call physician can be reached by calling the office phone and the answering service will page him/her.
New Patients
Our office is currently accepting new patients. All new patients will need to register initially with the office and the Registration Support department. The initial new patient appointment is approximately 40 minutes and please arrive 10-15 minutes in advance of your appointment. This will allow for time to complete necessary paperwork and for the staff to prepare you for your visit. Please bring a copy of your medical records, if available. Our staff can provide you with a medical release form to send to your former physician.
Insurance
Our office accepts most major insurance plans as well as managed care, indemnity plans and Medicare. Please contact your insurance company directly to familiarize yourself with your specific plan and to verify that our physicians are part of your group plan.
Appointments
Our office's goal is to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Please call in advance to schedule a same day urgent care visit to ensure the availability of appointment times. Please bring your health insurance card and copayment at each visit. Copayments are expected to be paid at the time of service. Also bring a list of your current medications to review with the physician.
New Prescriptions and Refills
If a new medication needs to be prescribed or you need an existing prescription refilled, please call the office at (617) 660-6212 during office hours. After hours, please call (617) 660-6214 and leave a message on our prescription line. You may also use Patient Site to inform the physician. Please allow 1-2 business days to process your prescription request. When calling the prescription line the following information is required: your social security number/BIDMC medical record number, full name, phone number, medication name, dosage, pharmacy name and primary address. Please indicate if the prescription should be mailed to your home for mail away service or if you would like it sent to a pharmacy. If further information is need, the office will contact you directly.
Referral Requests
When your primary care physician determines that you need to see specialist , you will be referred to a Beth Israel Deaconess specialist. Several specialty services are offered at our site however on occasion you may need to go to BIDMC. In order for a referral to be generated an appointment needs to be scheduled. Please allow 7 days for a referral request to be processed. Please call our referral request line at (617) 660-6221 or use Patient Site. When calling the referral line the following information is required: your social security number/BIDMC medical record number, your full name, a phone number where you can be reached, current insurance, the full name of the specialist and location, date of appointment and the reason for your appointment. The office will contact you directly if additional information is needed.
Patient Site
In order to provide you with the opportunity to play an active role in your health care and well being, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center has established an internet based medical record website. The Patient Site website (https//www.patientsite.org/) allows you to not only view your medical records but also to communicate with the physician and staff in our office. You are able to communicate directly with Dr. Philip Triffletti or the staff to request appointments, prescriptions and referrals. Brochures are available in our office for additional information.
