Got Knee Pain? Maybe The Answer Is More Exercise

Bridget Quinn, MD Bridget Quinn, MD, Sports Medicine & Shoulder Surgery, and Popi Gianakouras, MSPT, Physical Therapy, was be part of a National Public Radio (NPR) story about the enormous number of Americans entering their 50s and 60s with high expectations about staying active - but with jobs that chain them to their desks for hours on end.

NPR's Richard Knox recently learned the price of that inactivity when new pains cropped up in his knees. But to his relief, he found the problem is common and treatable. With discipline, his caregivers Quinn and Gianakouras say, he might even run again.

The story aired on Monday, April 25 during Morning Edition, which runs between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. on WBUR, 90.9 FM and between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. on WGBH, 89.7 FM.
