The Orthopaedics Trauma Service, under the direction of Edward K. Rodriguez, MD, provides:
- Full-service care for all extremity, pelvic and spine fractures, dislocations and injuries.
- Comprehensive trauma management care for all forms of musculoskeletal trauma and injuries.
State-of-the-Art Trauma Operating Facilities
The BIDMC is a Level I trauma service, and the Carl J. Shapiro Department of Orthopedics is available 24/7/365 to provide complete state-of-the-art trauma care, including a dedicated traumatologist and state-of-the-art trauma operating facilities.
Physical Therapy and Rehabilitiation
Physical therapy and rehabilitation is a strong component of this division.
Close Collaboration with Trauma Service
We work closely with the Trauma Service to provide efficient care of trauma patients.
