FAQ

What is iShift?

iShift is Internet-based scheduling software that allows the posting of open shifts, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), for viewing and requesting by employees over the Web.

Who can use iShift?

Full-time, part-time and per diem employees of BIDMC who work on eligible units and are approved by their Managers.

Can I access iShift from home?

Yes, as long as you can connect and browse the Internet, you can access iShift from anywhere. To log in, click here.

Can I access iShift from work?

Yes, simply go to any PC with an Internet connection and go to BIDMC's internal Portal.  Click on the "Clinical Portal" tab, scroll down to the Patient Care Services Section and click on iShift @ BIDMC.

Can I request shifts through iShift if I am not a current Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center employee?

In order to use iShift, you must be a Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center employee.

How do I know whether or not I was assigned a shift?

If your request for a particular shift is accepted, you will be notified via e-mail. Shifts will be assigned at least 48 hours before the beginning of the shift. It is your responsibility to check iShift to see if you have been assigned shifts you have requested, and to report to work for those shifts. If you are not assigned a shift, you will not be notified. Once a shift has been assigned, it will be removed from the list of shifts available through iShift. You can also monitor the shifts assigned to you by logging onto the iShift main page and clicking on the “View Assigned Shifts” tab.
