Daniel Tarsy, MD
Dr. Daniel Tarsy is director of the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders and the National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence Parkinson’s Disease Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Education/Training
He received his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine, his neurology training at Boston University School of Medicine, and fellowship training in movement disorders and neuropharmacology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Kings College Hospital, London.
Professional Achievements
Dr. Tarsy established the first academic based programs in surgical deep brain stimulation and botulinum toxin for treatment of dystonia in New England.
He is Chair of the Movement Disorders section of the American Academy of Neurology and the Education Committee of the International Movement Disorders Society.
Clinical Experience
He has been treating patients with Parkinson’s disease, tremor, dystonia, and other movement disorders for more than 30 years.
Research
His research interests have been in the pharmacology of brain neurotransmitters and clinical trials of new treatments for Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, and tremor.
