Memory Disorders

Issues Solely Related to Age vs. Disorders

As we age, many of us develop concerns about our memory, especially when it comes to figuring out what are normal "senior moments" versus what may be the beginning of a more serious memory disorder. In the Cognitive Neurology and Memory Disorders Program at BIDMC, we apply the latest behavioral, genetic and imaging tests to diagnose and treat a wide range of memory problems. We can reassure those whose memory issues are solely related to aging, and we can use the latest and most advanced treatments to help those with more significant memory impairment.

Comprehensive Evaluation and Treatment

We employ effective behavioral, lifestyle and medication regimens to treat a range of issues, from the mildest memory symptoms to severe disorders. Our multidisciplinary team of cognitive neurologists, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists and social workers work together to perform a comprehensive evaluation and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to each patient's individual strengths and weaknesses.
