Outpatient Consultation Service
The Senior Health outpatient practice, in addition to providing primary care, is available to provide geriatric consultations to older adults for complex medical conditions such as osteoporosis, memory loss, falls and fainting, confusion or behavioral problems, and failure to thrive (weight loss). Consultations prior to surgery are also offered in order to promote a quick recovery and prevent postoperative complications.

Inpatient Consultation Services
The Senior Health team is available to provide geriatric consultation for patients while they are in the hospital at BIDMC. The attending physician can request a consult for issues such as delirium, falls, and complex medical management of other geriatric issues.
Under the leadership of Dr. Julie Moran, this multidisciplinary service is also building partnerships with the surgical subspecialties in an effort to improve the perioperative care of elderly patients.
