Our Mission
To promote a culture in which all BIDMC staff appreciate the importance of the ethical aspects of their work (their decisions, actions, character, and morale), and have the support they need to do that work in accordance with BIDMC's and their own highest moral standards.

Lachlan Forrow, MD, directs BIDMC’s Ethics Programs, including the:
Educational programs include monthly interdisciplinary Schwartz Center Rounds, which support BIDMC staff in handling challenging aspects of clinician-patient relationship; a monthly BIDMC-wide Ethics Case Conference; and monthly “ethics rounds” on many inpatient units.
