The HealthCare Hospitalist Program consists of physicians caring for hospitalized patients who have primary care physicians affiliated with HealthCare and Beth Israel Deaconess.
24 / 7 / 365 Coverage
We provide a 24-hour, 7 days per week, 365 days per year coverage for patients admitted to the medical service.
Patients admitted to the subspecialist services during normal business hours receive a medical consultation. After hours, medical consultations are done by an on-staff senior medical resident. We will follow the patient without housestaff the next day.
The HealthCare Hospitalist Program at BIDMC is closely linked to the HealthCare Hospitalist Program at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital at Needham, allowing for a direct transfer to BIDMC when more specialized or critical care is needed.
