Quality Improvement Initiatives at the Digestive Disease Center


Quality Improvement is a priority for the Digestive Disease Center, as we are always looking for ways to improve patient care, minimize risk, and enhance the patient-provider relationship. We have several concurrent initiatives in varying stages of implementation; many of these initiatives are funded at least in part by national organizations, and some of our findings are slated for publication in the near future.

Procedure Notification - looking at the possibility of automated notification of future procedure due dates for our patients.

Colonoscopy Withdrawal Times - a recent study regarding whether lengthening the time spent on a colonoscopy will increase the number of polyps found by the gastroenterologist .
