PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) is a common endocrine problem that affects one in 10 women in the reproductive age group. The most common symptoms include:

  • Menstrual irregularities
  • Infertility
  • Excessive facial hair
  • Acne
  • Obesity
  • Type 2 diabetes.

The PCOS center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical center provides comprehensive care to women with PCOS. Every patient gets evaluated by our endocrinologists using a complete hormonal workup. A pelvic ultrasound will be obtained if required.

In addition, our center offers a multidisciplinary integrated care by a team of subspecialists in endocrinology, dermatology and lifestyle modification to assist women with various complications associated with PCOS. A comprehensive evaluation and treatment care plan made by the expert team is available to the individual patient on a single visit at the multidisciplinary clinic at the center.
