Care for Patients with Implanted Cardiac Devices
The outpatient Pacemaker and Defibrillator Clinic provides care for patients with implanted cardiac devices and offers routine and urgent outpatient clinic appointments every weekday.
Implantable cardiac arrhythmia devices are used to treat
slow heart beats (bradyarrhythmias) or
rapid heart beats (ventricular tachyarrhythmias). Many patients also choose to utilize the clinic's home monitoring program that permits automated device checks via the phone or internet between normally scheduled visits.
Outpatient and Inpatient Consultation Services
The Pacemaker and Defibrillator Service also offers outpatient and inpatient consultation services for patients considering cardiac rhythm device placement and for patients who require additional device management after placement.
On-going Research Projects
Numerous on-going research projects are designed to evaluate cutting-edge technologies and to learn more about the clinical benefits of implantable cardiac rhythm devices.
