Referrals and Consultations Welcome
The Structural Heart Center physicians at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center CardioVascular Institute welcome referrals, and are committed to providing your patients with exceptional care. We are happy to share our knowledge and resources with you and your patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
A Collaborative Team
The Cardiovascular Institute’s comprehensive services include cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, and vascular and endovascular surgery. In this collaborative environment, physicians and surgeons from multiple specialties provide seamless care across cardiovascular disciplines. This model ensures that all available treatment options for a particular patient’s structural heart disease are considered and readily available.
Ongoing Communication with Referring Physicians
Referring physicians and patients themselves are very much a part of the care team at the CardioVascular Institute’s Structural Heart Center. We recognize the importance of ongoing communication with referring physicians, and make it a point to be easily accessible to them. In addition, we are committed to sharing test results, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and other pertinent information with our patients and their referring physicians as quickly as possible.
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the CardioVascular Institute is committed to providing your patients with the best care and most seamless service in the Boston area.
A Wide Range of Programs and Services
The CardioVascular Institute offers a full range of programs and services, including arrhythmia care, interventional care, non-invasive imaging and outpatient care. Our cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories are staffed by experienced physicians and equipped with state-of-the-art technology. We offer a number of programs designed to manage the cardiovascular disease of specific patient populations. Urgent consultations are usually available within 24-48 hours.
Commitment to Accessibility and Follow-Up
We welcome your referrals. We are committed to being accessible and to following up with you. In most cases, we can see your patient within 24 hours and accept transfers immediately.
Communication is Key
Prompt Communication Following Procedures
Following procedures, our physicians promptly communicate with the referring cardiologist and primary care physician, providing an image of the procedure. We will inform you of any major changes in your patient's course, and we will provide you with a discharge summary to aid in resuming care for your patient.
