Aortic Insufficiency

Valve Does Not Close Tightly

Aortic insufficiency, also known as aortic valve regurgitation, is a condition that occurs when your heart's aortic valve doesn't close tightly enough. As a result, blood from the aorta leaks backward into the left ventricle. This may prevent your heart from efficiently pumping blood out to the rest of your body.
