Death from an Abrupt Loss of Heart Function

Sudden cardiac death (also called sudden cardiac arrest) is death from an abrupt loss of heart function. Victims may or may not have diagnosed heart disease. The time and method of death are unexpected, but death occurs within minutes after symptoms appear.
