Treatments

Treat Underlying Heart Condition

Typically, palpitations do not require treatment unless you are found to have another underlying heart condition, such as an abnormal heart rhythm, a valve problem, blood clots or heart failure. These conditions will have to be treated.

Avoid Triggers

If there are no underlying problems found, your doctor will probably recommend ways for you to avoid the triggers that are causing your palpitations. These could range from stress reduction measures to cutting out certain stimulants.
