Cardiovascular Medicine
One of the three divisions of the CardioVascular Institute, Cardiovascular Medicine has a long and distinguished history in cardiovascular programs, treatments, research and scientific discovery. From inventing the first pacemaker to be used in humans, to creating one of the first coronary intensive care units (ICU) in Boston, BIDMC has been a pioneer in the field of cardiology since the early 1900s.
Our traditions include a strong commitment to medical education. Our fellowship programs are led by distinguished Harvard Medical School faculty in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, clinical electrophysiology and advanced non-invasive imaging.
