Our Mission
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide optimal comprehensive care for cardiac arrest survivors.
Background
Each year approximately 400,000 pepole will suffer cardiac arrest in the United States. Cardiac arrest is a severe life-threatening condition in which the heart stops beating entirely for a period of time. During this time the heart is unable to circulate blood and oxygen throughout the body. If this state is maintained the body's cells, tissues, and organs may begin to fail and eventually die. Early treatment is possible and neccesary to avoid severe cellular damage.
Recent advances have improved the chances of survival for those that experience cardiac arrest. Increased public awareness, Cardio-Pulmonary Resucitation (CPR) training, and Automated External Defibrillators (AED) have been vital to improving cardiac arrest care.
