Emergency Medicine
Open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, the Berenson Emergency Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is fully staffed by specialty trained, board-certified emergency medicine physicians and trauma trained nurses.

The Emergency Department is a level I trauma center serving the Boston metropolitan area. Each year nearly 55,000 patients are treated in the Emergency Department. Our state-of-the-art facility is designed to meet the needs of a high-volume, acutely injured or ill patient population.
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is a teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School. The department’s Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency (HAEMR) is a highly rated three-year program with a total of 36 residents. Medical students take clerkships in the department during their third and fourth years.
