BIDMC enjoys an international reputation for state-of-the-art radiological imaging, including rapid spiral CT and MR angiography, CT and MR colonography (virtual colonoscopy), MRI and MRCP (magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography). Cross-sectional, 3D imaging and reconstructions help dictate surgical management, and play a vital role in determining disease activity, draining abscesses and guiding treatment. BIDMC has also helped pioneer the development of image-guided tumor ablation therapies.
