The Explorations Program

For the past several years, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center has partnered with Harvard Medical School in the Explorations program.

Explorations is a program for Boston and Cambridge 6th, 7th, and 8th grade school students who have an interest in Science, Mathematics, or Health careers. The program links area faculty, research associates, and medical students with Boston middle school students, exposing them to research laboratories, science career paths, and includes discussions about the importance of academic preparation. BIDMC proudly hosts over 50 students each year. Explorations is sponsored by the Harvard Medical School Office for Diversity and Community Partnership and its Minority Faculty Development Program, K-12 Programs, and Biomedical Science Careers Program.
