BIDMC is proud to sponsor the 25th AIDS Walk Boston slated for Sunday, June 6, 2010. Join BIDMC's Walk Team!
Click here to register for BIDMC's Walk Team. The first 50 walkers to register will receive a free t-shirt, and the first 20 walkers to arrive on June 6 will receive a BIDMC sunscreen with an attached carabiner!
In 2009, more than 30 BIDMC employees and their family members participated and raised close to $10,000. BIDMC also staffs an informational table at the event led by the hospital's medical staff.
Jane Matlaw, Director of Community Relations, says of the 2009 Walk, "at the final tally prior to the Walk we were among the top five teams that participated. Everyone who participated had a great time. I have been walking since 1995 and this was the most successful walk ever! The best part is getting to meet and know employees from across the medical center that you might not come into contact with on a regular basis. A high point was walking with a young woman whose dad (a BIDMC MD) died of AIDS when she was nine. She is now in college and hopes to go to medical school one day."
This fundraising 10K walk and 5K run benefits the AIDS Action Committee.
